Electro-Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
Thermography is an excellent tool for monitoring lymphatic congestion and subsequent improvement through lymphatic drainage therapy. Our goal as clinical thermographers is to assist women in empowering themselves to have healthy breasts and avoid developing pathology. All disease grows in a congested environment and creating healthy lymph flow is essential to our overall health. This beneficial therapy will help our clients be proactive in obtaining the health they desire.
Electro-Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is noninvasive, painless and very calming and relaxing. It is similar to having a light touch massage but instead the certified lymphatic therapist uses an instrument that has two small hand held wands that are lightly and slowly moved across the body in a specific direction that correlates to the body’s lymphatic flow.
A combination of vibration, light and electrical waves help to stimulate the flow of the lymph by breaking up congested lymph fluid so that it can be released from the body. Think of a jar of water with gelatin that is very thick and gelatinous, which is similar to congested lymph. If you shake the jar the liquid becomes more fluid. The vibration of the instrument works in the same way to break up lymphatic congestion.
Unlike your venous system, your lymphatic system has no pumping mechanism to keep the fluid circulating through the body. Therefore, the lymphatic system is always at a higher risk for blockage. Our lymphatic system is primarily responsible for carrying disease-fighting material to cells attacked by germs, transporting the dead germs away and supplying protein-rich plasma fluid back to the heart. When this system is blocked, we become defenseless against attacks by virus, fungi, and bacteria. ELT can stimulate the lymph at a greater depth than Manual Lymphatic Massage and will enhance lymph flow with far less therapy time. Since lymphatic organs play an important role in the immune system, the proper flow of the lymphatic fluid can have a positive impact on many conditions.
An impaired lymphatic system often results in: Colds, Flu and Sinus Problems, Edema & Excess Water Retention, Heart Disease, Fibrocystic & Tender Breast, Cellulite, Enlarged Prostate, and Cancer.
