What are essential oils?
Essential oils are the volatile liquids that are distilled from plants; they come from the plants’ seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers and fruit. They are mankind’s first medicine. Priests and physicians have been using essential oils for thousands of years. In biblical times essential oils were widely used, in fact there are 188 references to essential oils in the bible.
Why are the ingredients of the oils so important?
It is the chemical constituents, or ingredients, that determine the purity and therapeutic value of the oil. And as such, these constituents are affected by a number of variables including conditions of the soil, fertilizer, region grown, climate, altitude, harvesting and methods of distillation.
What kind of essential oil is best?
Essential oils are so beneficial to our health that the need for obtaining the purest therapeutic grade is of utmost importance. They can be used topically, (on the skin), through inhalation, (with a diffuser or just smelling them), and through ingestion, (only if they are pure therapeutic grade).
Did You Know?
Essential oils are so small in molecular sixe that they are quickly absorbed through the skin and begin to work on the cellular level. Using pure therapeutic grade essential oils will help promote emotional, physical and spiritual well being.
