Right Now Just Be

“The world is too much with us.” William Wordsworth

In case it’s been a while since you’ve read these words or perhaps never have, what do they really mean? My interpretation is that we are busy in the world doing all the things that we do – work, family, socializing, social media, and listening to the news, hearing and focusing on all the things that are wrong with the world.

Here’s what we can do to change it. Turn away from the world (all that stuff above) or at least limit those things that you can and  then you can uncover what in life makes you happy. It means getting present in this day, this moment and you will realize that you can obtain this inner knowledge: you have the ability to transform your outer world.

Just for today, don’t listen to the news or read the paper – try it even for a week – yes, for some of us this will be a difficult task. I think we do it more from habit than actually needing to know.  While you are doing this process, wean yourself from the opinions of others – their opinions are only their perspective and unless they are helpful for you, do not listen or allow them to affect you. Instead, listen to the whisper of your authentic self which is telling you which way to go. You are always being shown and if you are like many of us, you forget to listen or take the action.

So listen carefully. Spirit’s playing your song!
