Creating a state of fitness in just 20 minutes a day by Libba Phillips
Are you still waiting for inspiration to kick in to get started on that New Year’s goal to get in shape? Maybe committing to an exercise class just isn’t your thing and the idea of pumping iron is slightly overwhelming to you? But what if I told you that you could actually “get fit” in body and mind while manifesting your dreams at the same time, in just 20 minutes a day? You don’t have to have an intense work out routine to get in better shape! You can actually implement movement that matters, and create miracles while you’re at it too!
It’s been said that it takes about 21 days to establish a new habit and that’s about the same time it takes to also start to see changes in the body – when one is committed to consistent exercise for at least 20 minutes a day for 4-5 days per week. And if you’ll spend those same 20 minutes a day ‘focusing your mind on imagining a specific life goal you wish to achieve’, you’ll be transformed in a way that will really motivate you to move your feet and into the life of your dreams.
The first step to getting started is to identify and write out a list of your top 10 goals for what you would like to achieve within the next 6 months to one year from now. Do you want to increase your income? Release thirty pounds? Buy a home? Next create a list of any immediate needs and priorities that you desire to be fulfilled right now (within the next few days/weeks/month). Need an extra $500 to pay for that unexpected bill due in two weeks? Need to find a new roommate asap? Want to attract a date (or longer term mate)? Once you have these two lists ready, get some index cards and write down one goal (with the desired timeline) per card. Then fold each card in half and separate them into the priority pile and the longer-term pile.
Next find two containers that you can put these cards in and differentiate them by timeline. The containers can be any kind… envelopes; gift bags or even shoe-boxes are fine! I invite you to be creative by decorating these containers – this is your sacred place to put your manifestations in motion – so make them special if you like!
You are one step closer to bringing what you want closer to you! By making the commitment to ‘start moving’ – you are setting your intention to God/the Universe that you are willing to ‘put your desires into action’ and set out on a path to be guided. Your part is to commit each morning (or whatever time works best each day) to walk (or move in some way) for 20 minutes. Before you lace up your tennis shoes and head out the door – reach your hand into each of the containers – and select one card from each. It’s fun to let the Universe guide you to your ‘focused thoughts’ for the session and wait to open the card when you get to your walking destination.
When you open your card to read the goal you’ve written – simply ask yourself – “What would it look like to see this goal or desired result? How would I feel? What details can I imagine as I think about what I want? What would be happening as this comes into being? ” And that is exactly what you focus on – the whole time you are walking. No texting. No checking Facebook on your phone. Just walk (and imagine your desired results) for twenty minutes a day, at least 4-5 days a week. You are literally taking steps towards what you want as you focus completely on ‘acting as if’ while you are walking. I’ve found that for me personally, I like to laser focus on one or two goals per walking session. It helps me to hold my visions longer and really use my creativity to come up with the desired details. And after your walking sessions – simply put the cards back in the containers to be selected another day and remove them when your wishes are fulfilled. Add more as desired!
You might not have buns of steel after only three days but I promise you that the ‘results’ of your ‘manifesting in motion’ WILL start to happen after you’ve been at it for a few days. (Or sooner!) You’ll notice information that seems to come to you ‘out of the blue’. Coincidences and other divine signs will start to occur with more frequency. And you’ll find that you are feeling more ‘dialed in’ and aware of your thoughts. And yes, your thighs will eventually get firmer too!
